Sitiuation on gofundme

On November 17th 2022, GoFundMe REVERSED all donations that had been made up to that date back to all original donors.  What GoFundMe did on November 17th was an UNWARRANTED and EGREGIOUS attack on and against this project!!!  What they did was wrong, and it is important that everyone know this. 

Backstory....

In October 2022--- at which time over $13,000 had been donated to this project via the GoFundMe platform --- I started getting emails from GoFundMe stating that I needed to hook up a bank account to the fund raise being hosted on their platform.

Doing this was a non problem from my end.  I had a bank account established for this project, so I hooked it up to the fund raise entry in GoFundMe.

I was told on screen that things were done, but -- days later -- I went back in and discovered that GoFundMe had DELETED what I had done, and moved me back to the beginning of their process.

I received no notice, explanation, email, or phone call from GoFundMe advising what they had done, or what I needed to do to "fix it".  They simply erased what I had done, and moved me back to the beginning.

So I engaged and did things again.  I hooked my bank account up to the GoFundMe-based fund raise again, and I ultimately experienced the same exact result. I was told on screen that things were done, but --- days later --  I went back in and discovered that GoFundMe had deleted what I had done, and moved me back to the beginning of their process.
 

I reached out to GoFundMe for help -- multiple times.  Only way to communicate with GoFundMe is a chat function on their website.  I requested a return phone call, but they never did call, and the help I received via their chat function was exceptionally poor.   So the only thing I could was to continue to hook my bank account up to the fund raise, which I did somewhere between 5 and 10 times.  Each time, I experienced the same result in the end. 

Increasingly frustrated, I contacted GoFundMe again on the morning of November 17th, again via their chat function.   Once again, I asked for a phone call for support.  They refused to call, but the rep DID say via the chat session on the morning of 11/17 that there was more than enough time to get things fixed. The rep said I had until January 2023. That was good to see on screen, but that very afternoon ---- without a phone call or any notice at all --- GoFundMe reversed all donations back to original donors. They did exactly what they said they wouldn't do that very morning.  Unbelievable!!!

Attempts to communicate with GoFundMe after what happened on 11/17/22 went the same way they did prior to the refunding.  GoFundMe refused to engage in discussion, and the explanation provided via written means (on what they did) made no sense at all. 

What GoFundMe did to this project on 11/17/22 was wrong!!  They invited me to continue using their platform, but that was a non-starter given the way their extreme lack of service, and the way they treated me and this project.
