Robert Henderson, "The Warbird Sculptor"
About Henderson
Robert Henderson was a pilot and very well known bronze sculptor residing in Canon City Colorado. With him having many pieces, with his main area of sculptures being at the United States Air Force Academy Plaza, also known as his "Study Hall" collection of pieces. With his passing on September 6th, 2023 we wanted to place this statue in his honor alongside Col Earl Depner for everything they have done.
His legacy
With Robert Henderson being a very well known artist, here are a couple of his pieces, with his main focus being on his "Study Hall" collection at the Air Force Academy Plaza, that included planes like the P51, B17, P38, and many more. But he also worked with others with some of his pieces honoring Mario Andretti, Walter Cronkite, and John Denver.
His last statue
With him passing on September 6th 2023, he passed throughout the course of this project, this was his final piece installed, and with that, we wanted to have his legacy live on through this project as well. So we dedicated this statue to honor Robert Henderson along with Col Earl Depner.
